I am amazed with the number of acquaintances I have. Everyday I meet new people and everyday I see someone I could have possibly seen before. And of course, trying very hard to recall where I've met them and how I know them. Finally, WHAT is their name. It's pretty tiring, really. But it's interesting because I have never actually get to know new people everyday!

Right. So I was blabbering.

KN's birthday is tomorrow but we had a celebration for him today. Nothing went wrong (thankfully) but somehow the food portions are minute. We ended up in Fong Seng for more food (namely cheese prata) and drinks. And I must credit my hyper-ness to the tea I drank! BUT, it's good...I can now finish my readings for tomorrow's lecture and complete my rotting tutorials. And thank God my first lecture is at 12 noon. Late night tonight I guess.

While we were shopping for KN's birthday, I got pretty distracted and ended up shopping for myself. Anyway, here is a list of the stuff I bought (albeit a tad bit useless, even for kay-poh's sake)
1. A pair of bright yellow socks with orange letterings
2. A pair of green socks with white patterns
3. A purple top!
4. A black (again) top
Hm. That reminds me of a compliment someone is class gave me...that I look great in black! Hahaha.

And oh, Selamat Hari Kebangsaan kepada semua rakyat Malaysia!

OK. Time for work.

HELLO! I'm back from Choir camp. Tired and drained as usual. Am expecting to get aches all over by tonight. Heh. Thanks to the wonderful midnight jog along the beach. But I was thrilled by the strong wind and impeding storm yesterday. And the satisfaction when one is already inside the cosy chalet with friends happily chatting/playing cards.

Am wondering how's everybody doing. Received a lengthy email from Fendy and saw Steve online. It's amazing to have friends all over the world. :)

Riverdance is going to KL!! But it just had to be on the 12th to 17th Dec! Why why why? And miserable me will be stuck in Singapore rehearsing with the choir to prepare for an international competition in Genting. Hmmm. Maybe I should try to work out a plan so that I can get to sing and watch the competition at the same time! :)

And a wonderful person called today...but was on my way to practical session. :(

Things are getting a bit hectic around here with choir practices twice a week and various other commitments on remaining days. I wanna be on the Dean's List. *sulk*

NEWS FLASH ONE
I dropped a file on my precious Mac and one of the keys came off. The description of Apple man for my actions were, spectacular, ultimate, super etc. Am so proud of myself. But he's still perfectly fine. Btw, my Mac is called MAC. And it's a HE. Am bonding very well with him...falling in love with him again and again. Even though he looks as if he has a missing tooth now. :( Poor baby.

NEWS FLASH TWO
Met this really impressive guy. He's doing Physics and is really really smart! He looks into my eyes when we talk and wow, I'm amazed at his ability to hold my gaze. *swoooooon* But of course, everything is still very early and I'm still pretty much amazed by him. By the way, he has the sexiest name on earth! Wooh!

NEWS FLASH THREE
I can juggle 3 balls already! But I still need more practice. Seeing the seniors do tricks; they inspire me to practise even more. And while me and my group were practicing today, I saw a person on a unicycle, a few trying to juggle clubs and slowly it dawned on me that this club IS a clown club! Urgh. Nevermind. Shall look for a magician counterpart and start doing performances. :) Then can earn money to go to US and visit YM and WL! Yay.

NEWS FLASH FOUR
Somebody is in loveeeeee....hee. No disclosure of names here. But a clue, he's someone I know and probably you too.

Right. The end of today's entry. I'm enjoying uni life currently. Though I dislike the muggers in Pharmacy. Why are they so darned hardworking?

Supposed to receive some condoms today. But they didn't pass it over to my section. So no condoms. But why condoms? Coz it's supposed to be World AIDS Day and it's part of the campaigning material.

Our dear WL just had a hair makeover! Check it out! Good move wills.

Anyway, I'm wondering how is everybody back home and all over the world doing. I seem to have a tendency to be attached to people that are potentially overseas-goers. And they happen to be the people I'm really close with. Lemme recount.
1. Primary school best friend - went away to Penang for studies. Not really overseas, but far enough.
2. Secondary school friends - off to Australia for uni!
3. Church friends - off to Australia too.
4. JC classmates - off to UK, US.
5. Fellow ASEAN mates like Lyd, Val, SL, Nad, WL, CY etc - either they're at home or Aust or UK or US. SIGH.
6. My boyfriend - off to US!!!!
Now. That's A LOT of heartbreak. Why are people close to be so far from me now? It's horrid to not have people around to talk with and share my heart with. Emails really cannot replace the distance. :(

Anyway, not a time to be down...all those who are reading this. Please take care. :)

Lip Yoong gave me a cactus when he came down to Singapore 3 weeks ago. Now it finally has a name. She is christened Hot Babe today. :) Shall make sure she doesn't die under my care coz my green thumb is pretty, uh, blue. Anyway, he is now on a flight to NY. Will be reaching Tokyo pretty soon. It's so dreary to have such a long flight. Hope he's well and fine.

Hmmm. Had first Anatomy lesson in my whole life today. But the content was 95% A level stuff. *grin* Anyway, I have a good feeling about Anatomy although there's probably millions of memory work for the rest of the module. The lecturers are a fun group and they made the lectures so much more interesting. These people share their offices with preserved human parts, cadavers and plenty of slides. No wonder they're pretty neurotic.

Yup. So, Anatomy lesson. Had lecture for about 1 hour plus then Prof released us for coffee and to take a short stroll to the Anatomy Hall, where all the practicals will be held. Anyway, we had a great time looking around, staring into human body parts that are dissected. Not a bad experience at all. Well, there's a better part to the lesson but it's not right for me to publish it here. So only a selected few get to hear about it personally from me. :)

OK. I guess that's about all. Need to go sleep. Heh.

Two weeks full of disappointments and pleasant suprises. My story of procuring this PowerBook.

Well, went for the Matriculation Fair and looked through all laptops. IBM is ugly, so it's definitely out. HP seems nice but friend said the screen dies very quickly. Toshiba seems like the one I'll be going for coz it has the looks and function. Fujitsu is out of the question because of the stupid tablet thingy which I don't need at all. Then the Apple man came...swayed all my opinions and made me want to try out Mac. Plus of course, a friend also highly recommended Mac to me. So back to PGP I went with lots of stuff in my hands and a confused mind as to whether I should get the comp as soon as possible. Called mom and she gave me the green light. And the next day, I happily trooped down to the same venue again with Ant to order my pretty PowerBook. Salesman seems nice enough because he volunteered to be my guarantor for the loan. Thinks to meself, this is going to be good. Asked him a couple more questions regarding payment of the balance via an instalment plan etc. And whether I could use the card. Plus a bit more about the specs of the laptop. So was pretty excited. Then the bomb dropped. I had to pay a $100 deposit (which is only $20 for the others!) which he conveniently forgot to tell me. Then I shot him with more questions making sure that there'll not be anymore hidden costs. Was quite satisfied. So proceedee on to sign the loan. Oh, dear Salesman forgot to bring his passport and green cards and I myself, have not applied for my student pass yet. SO, OK. Salesman received a form to sign up for loan on a stipulated date. Meanwhile I went ahead to make my student pass (this is actually another story by itself). When Sunday comes, Salesman called to apologise coz he cannot be my guarantor anymore!! OK. Thinks to meself, should go look for other people while trying to find out whether I really need a guarantor. This is by virtue of my, ahem, age. Anyway, received wrong information from Salesman again and went down stupidly to sign the loan without a guarantor. Of course, I asked around for other people. But of course, many declined either due to the fact that they are already guarantors or they just couldn't trust me. Anyway, was pretty frustrated from running around like a headless chicken. Then, finally found one! BUT, she was barred from signing the loan by her dad. So, bummer. And (this was a miracle) when I almost gave up, called a senior and he offered to sign the thingy for me immediately! Told him to wait and do it the next day instead. BUT, he lost his IC. By this time, I was really boiling. What with all the books to buy, settling my phone line, getting my student pass and basically trying to be a conscientious student, I don't need this kind of ma fan-ness. Anyway, the happy ending was the loan was signed and the laptop was collected the next day! So I thought, Yay, a comp at last...Another bomb hit me. THERE IS NO MICROSOFT OFFICE INSTALLED ON THE MAC. Sheesh. To get one, I have to fork out another $270. &^%^^%$ Oh yes. Regarding the instalment plan, there isn't one. So I was cheated by Slaesman again. And regarding the Office software, Salesman said it'll be there. Hence, I was cheated again. *fume* And TODAY. Was complaining so much about Salesman that my coursemates probably got very sick of me. And a miracle! Walked towards Science canteen and saw Apple counter. Yippee!! Asked about iPod as well as the Office. Guess what, the guy offered to copy it for me for free!! THANK GOD!

So that's the end of the computer story. There are separate stories to my phone line and student pass. Maybe I'll type it out one day when I'm in the mood. But now, it's back to Physical Pharmacy. Wow.

Wednesday, August 13

Hello everybody. I have got my new Powerbook!! And this blog is officially typed on my own laptop. Yay. It's good that I have settled my loan application yesterday and can collect the computer today. :)

Well, nothing much...lessons have officially started in NUS and I have had my 4th lecture so far yesterday. And Wednesdays are my free days! :) Right now, I need to do some revision on Chemistry as well Biology. It's amazing how quickly I can forget stuff which used to be fingertip information in JC. Oh well, thanks to a looong period of slaking I guess.

Right. I have to go now. Must get myself familiarised to Apple as well as try to download stuff.

OK. I did not get my new Mac. *sulk* But it's okay. Things will be better soon. Wanna thank all those who have helped me so much for the last few weeks.

And LY's leaving next Saturday!! Urgh! Really, badly, extremely want to send him off. But I can't...*sulk*

Enough of sulking. I really really really hope that I can get my Mac in this week. At least get to catch people online before they leave. Heh.

Wow. Even Blogger looks different now. Anyway, just a little update on myself...Orientation Week has begun and I'm still very bored. There's really nothing much to do around here and the Pharmacy people are quite slack. Everything's pretty unorganised. Proabably because they didn't expect so many people to turn up for their orientation anyway. And almost everybody leaves after the lunch break. But I'm glad I stayed on today...played the Polar Bear game over and over but it was fun...maybe coz the seniors are such a bunch of jokers. Heh.

More updates to come when I get my laptop on Thursday! I miss everyone at home.
